Dream. Build. Blog.

Hi, I’m Chelsey… equal parts design enthusiast and word nerd.

My love affair with home décor began in elementary school, the day I spotted a stunning sea-green patio umbrella in a Pottery Barn catalog. I immediately declared it my new favorite color and insisted my bedroom be painted to match. My parents, ever the realists, gently reminded me I hadn’t quite developed a personal design aesthetic yet. Fair enough.

Fast forward to today. I’d like to think I’ve found my style: clean, sophisticated, and fun. I’m drawn to timeless spaces with character—and tend to shy away from anything that feels overly trendy or fleeting. I’d categorize myself somewhere between moderately and severely obsessed with all things home design, and I fully blame genetics. (My great-grandmother was a celebrated interior decorator, so it’s basically in my blood.)

Outside of interiors, I’m a highly-caffeinated mom to two incredible little boys, a rescue pup’s proud dogmom, and the wife of a truly wonderful human. When I’m not rearranging furniture in my head, you’ll find me dining out, walking the dog, gardening, or catching up with friends.

Professionally, I graduated from the School of Journalism at UW–Madison and started my career in advertising—dabbling in everything from copywriting to digital marketing. In 2012, I followed my design instincts and joined the Veridian Homes Marketing Team, where I’ve had the joy of blending storytelling with style ever since.
